What are the characteristics of acrylic fiber?
2018-11-14

Acrylic fiber has excellent properties and is called "synthetic wool" because its properties are close to wool.
Usually, in daily life, when we buy polyacrylonitrile fiber for the merchant, it is commonly known as acrylic fiber. The acrylic synthetic fiber contains a polyacrylonitrile or an acrylonitrile copolymer having an acrylonitrile content of more than 85%.
Acrylic fiber can be blended with wool. Most of the products are used in civilian applications, such as wool, blankets, knitted sportswear, tarpaulins, curtains, artificial fur, plush, bulky yarn, hose, parasol and so on.
Acrylic fiber is also a high-tech product - a raw material for carbon fiber. According to the requirements of the application that is not afraid of insects and other advantages, it can be purely spun or blended with natural fibers to obtain medium and thick wool and fine wool "kesmi" of various specifications.
Acrylic fiber has a special thermal extensibility and is suitable for the production of products such as bulked yarn, wool, knitted fabrics and artificial fur.
Acrylic fiber has a soft and full hand feeling, which is easy to dye and bright in color. The elasticity is not as good as that of wool, polyester, etc., especially after repeated stretching, the residual deformation is large. Therefore, the cuffs and neckline of the clothes made of acrylic fiber are easily deformed.
Acrylic is less hygroscopic than nylon and is prone to static electricity and pilling.
Acrylic fiber has low thermal conductivity and light texture, so it has good heat retention, and has excellent solar resistance, insect proof and mold, and is widely used in knitwear. It can be dyed with disperse dyes, cationic dyes and acid dyes.
